Vintage Ship Models

Vintage ship models are a must if you’re trying to showcase the Vintage Coastal interior style. You can either purchase one that is already made from a vintage handcraft shop (like the first image on the left), or purchase a ship model kit if opting for the least expensive option. Ship models are the perfect decor items to give your home an artsy/museum feel!

Ship Wheels, Anchors, & Compasses

Besides the ‘must-have’ vintage ship decor, items such as ship wheels, anchors, and compasses are just as important! Miniature versions of the items will be perfect for coffee table decor, while larger decorative items will be great for wall decor.

Vintage Paintings

As always, vintage paintings will 100% enhance your home’s style. Art will always bring out the style you’re going for, and in this case vintage ship or sailor paintings will be your go-to for this style.

Ornate Picture Frames

Frame your paintings and/or photos with ornate, brass, or gold picture frames to enhance this style! You’ll get a better deal by finding vintage frames at your local antique shop or vintage market <3

Books and Bookshelves

When I think of Vintage Coastal, and what I described it as being a mix of: Victorian, Dark (or light) Academia, and Coastal Interior styles, I immediately want to add books and bookshelves to this style. This is the academia part of Vintage Coastal I was referring to. For the best vintage book decor, visit your local antique shop or vintage market!

Seashell Dรฉcor

Add giant conch shells to your coffee table, TV stand or fireplace; definitely a must-have for any coastal style. If you live near a beach, or decide to take a trip to the beach this summer, pay nothing for this coastal decor item by collecting beautiful seashells. <3

Just like most vintage interior styles, old-fashioned wallpaper will play a great role in making it vintage when it comes to vintage coastal.

Navy/Dark Blue or Brownish Accent Wall

If you’re not up for wallpaper, painting an accent wall with any of the below paint colors will do just fine!

OR light-colored accent wall

….And speaking of colors, here is the perfect color palette for this decor style!

Furniture

Furniture with solid neutral colors, or leather is the perfect fit for this look. Patterns such as plaid, animal prints, paisley, or even floral prints may take away from the coastal aspect of this style.

I’ve added this decorative piece to the list, simply because it gives the same affect as the ship models; museum-like, and beautiful!

Treasure Chest

To really pull off this style, use a vintage trunk as your coffee table or as your personal ‘treasure chest’ for storage!

Vintage Paper and Quills

Although this would be perfect as decor, play the part and get real vintage paper and quill pens to actually use <3

White or Tan Curtains

Light flowy curtains will match the vibe of the beach and keep the balance of the vintage coastal style. Extravagant drapes with pattern will go a bit overboard! Keep it simple ๐Ÿ™‚

Last but not least, lights. An elegant chandelier to finish off this look……perfect! Go for light fixtures that are distressed (light colors, bronze or gold).
